Miss Cindy Hoten
Cindy has performed in San Francisco on the same stage as Janice Joplin, and in the same studio as Janet Jackson working with bands on original material, to spending a year in Australia singing at The Sydney Vocal Centre where she quotes this place as where it really started to take off.
Cindy moved to The Lake District in 2001 and began singing with The Good Old Boys 13 piece blues band, this enabled Cindy to indulge and nuture the Soul & Blues part of her style, to blend it with her country roots.
In recent years Cindy has been dabbling with a mix of styles, including Jazz / Swing / Vintage / Rockabilly with a few Surprises thrown in. As you can imagine, Cindy’s vocal range, ability and style is vast to say the least.
Cindy’s Influences count as Patsy Cline, Aretha Franklin, Hed Kandi, Gwen Stefani, Dolly Parton, Etta James to name a few, and started singing at the tender age of 8 when she used to stand on a table to sing at family christenings.
